Okay, since peel is logging in his blog he's given me a reason to post in mine. Meh!

But here in the last couple of weeks I've been spending a lot of time re-learning to play poker. I found out there was a lot more wrong with my game then there was right! So I've been posting a lot of HH on Cardschat.com and taking a lot of advice to the tables with me. I also bought Harrington's on Hold 'Em Vol. 1 and Hold 'Em Manager to help me out. Although the HUD is an invaluable tool, I think most of my recent success is coming from the advice of cardschat members.

Between the dates of Jan. 22nd to Feb. 2nd I cashed in 5 f/r's for a grand total of $30. In each case I took it straight to the tables and played it. It wasn't until my last win on UltimateBet of $4 that things started to get better.

I had been playing that $4 for about 3 days and had gotten it up to $10. The next morning I got up early (5am) to do a little table fishing and it worked. Within 2 hours I was up to around $25. So later that day I decided to take some of it and play in a $1.10 2K GTD rebuy (225 players). Since my bankroll was less than substantial for this buy in size, I promised myself not to rebuy. I would add on if I was in the top 20% of the field. Well, by the end of the rebuy period I was in the top 5% and doing very well at my table. I had a good image and was easily able to steal. So I added on 4K in chips for $2 and prepared myself for the rest of the tourney.

By the time the second break had come around I had propelled myself into the lead with 210K in chips and a 2:1 stack ratio over second place. I thought I was golden to win this one (top prize $212). But by the third break someone else had taken first with 315K in chips and I was pretty much stuck around 200K. I had a couple of 100K stacks at my table so I was still in pretty good shape.

Before the 4th break I had made some really shitty decisions and had really hurt my stack. I hit the final table in 8th place with around 80K in chips and the leader around 450K in chips. I tightened up and caught a couple of AK pushes and worked my way back up to third place with four left at the 5th break.

After the break my first cards dealt were JJ with blinds at 8000/16000. I was on the button and the big stack was to my right. He called the BB and I raised it 3xBB. SB folded, BB called, big stack folded. Flop comes out 7c9h5c and I push. The BB calls me and the turn and river both come a Jack!!! Quads on the final table! This pushed me into second place and after 4th place got eliminated the next hand was a ringer! We all had good hands and pushed with them. The big stack took the pot ending the tourney and leaving everyone in their respective places. I took third place for $89.78 and was sooooo stoked!!!

After that I've pretty much played ring games at 10NL both at 6max and HU. Either I am really strong at HU or 10NL has some really weak HU players, as I do very well in HU matches. I also did very well at 6max having a +7.5 buy in day. And those are $20 buy ins on UB.

So, that's where I'm at at the moment. I'm going to be adding a few hands in here with the replayer and will try to update this once a week.

This "granny" had been pushing ATC against raises for around 50 hands. The win was a little bitter sweet because she sucked out on a hand earlier for around $5 on me. And please don't think I would call this under any other circumstance.
